    The RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Tag) network allows automatic recognition and advanced information processing of objects. This project not only conducts basic research, but also examines technology standardization, usage and diffusion.

System Software and Information Security

The projects in system software and information security conduct practical research in various system software as a base for advanced information technology, and train engineers to support it.

  • Next-generation Web Basic Technology Project

    The project aims to develop a “ubiquitous service platform” as a tool for creating ubiquitous information environment, and studies methods and technologies for its efficient operation.

  • Wearable Environment Media Project

    This project employs broad-ranging technologies used for the next-generation mobile multimedia represented by cell-phones and studies its impact on society.

Knowledge and Information Systems

The projects in knowledge and information systems study advanced knowledge information systems which construct, share, search, and detect knowledge information by focusing on the new information environment including multimedia/mobile information devices and digital broadcasting.

  • Neural Computing Project

    This project incorporates various human intelligence functions into the computer models that mimic neural network of the brain, including character extraction from image and methods by which taste and smell are detected.
