Application Guidebook and Application Documents for those seeking admission in September 2012

Information and application forms are now available for download. Application for the GIGA Program must be made in English, and selection is based solely on the documents submitted. No interview is required, and there is no need to travel to Japan for application or screening. Please download the Application Guidebook ‘Admission for GIGA Program’ and Application Documents (Designated Forms) on this page, and carefully read all the information before applying.

Web Entry

Applicants must first register online by completing the Web Entry system. The Web Entry period starts from Tuesday, January 24, 2012 (9:00 a.m.). After completing the Web Entry form, print out and submit together with other application documents. For details, please refer to the corresponding section of the application guidebook.

Payment of Application Fee

The preferred method of payment for all applicants is money order (郵便為替), issued at any Japan Post Bank or post office in Japan. Foreign money orders are not accepted. Applicants residing in Japan must pay by money order. For applicants residing outside Japan, we can also accept payment by credit card or demand draft. Credit card payment is possible from Tuesday, January 24, 2012 (9:00 a.m.). Please note that wire transfer cannot be accepted, regardless of whether or not the applicant resides in Japan. For further details, please refer to the corresponding section of the application guidebook and the instruction in the attached document below.
