A fall tradition at Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus, the Aki Matsuri was held for the 26th time on the weekend of October 7, 2017.
SFC got back to its roots with frightening creatures and an uncanny Halloween atmosphere for its 26th annual Fall Festival. The theme of the event was “genten kaiki,” a play on words implying a “Spooky Homecoming.” Nearly 5,500 people gathered at SFC to enjoy the event on a clear autumn day.
The event featured various performances by bands, the dance team, the Japanese idol cover group, and more, as well as “bubble soccer,” a game played at SFC for the first time that combines humor and vigorous exercise that had both children and adults completely hooked.
Freshmen from overseas connected with others as they gathered around the many booths run by international students, and families and their children celebrated among the colorful Halloween decorations. At night, the customary fireworks were set off in a gorgeous finale.
