SFC Open Campus was held on Saturday, June 17, in which prospective students visited SFC to learn about the Faculty of Policy Management, the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, and the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care. It was a beautiful, clear day with a gentle breeze, unlike a typical day in the rainy season.
Among many events was a welcome speech by Takeshi Kawazoe and Jun Murai, the deans of the Faculty of Policy Management and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, campus tours and individual consultations held in both English and Japanese, and a presentation on SFC’s curriculum.
At the GIGA information session, Professor Tatsuya Hagino from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies introduced the Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus, and the GIGA program, which allows students to take classes and graduate entirely using English.
Next, Professor Masahiro Kotosaka from the Faculty of Policy Management combined video footage and images in a mock lecture on “The Technologies that Changed the Nature of International Business.” Professor Kotosaka’s field is in International Business, Internationalization Strategy, and International Entrepreneurship, and the presentation gave prospective students the chance to see how research is conducted at SFC first-hand.
It was a productive session, and afterward the students raised many questions in the Q&A session, which existing GIGA students joined as well.
Below are videos of the Open Campus, so feel free to take a look.
